Rhema Gospel Outreach Ministry

2022 April

On Saturday, 30 April 2022, Operation Mercy gave food hampers, clothing and children's items to the Rhema Gospel Outreach Ministry. Located a few kilometers from The Miracle Centre in an impoverished area, Rhema Gospel Outreach Ministry teaches, feeds and ministers to 54 children through its preschool and also ministers to its community through its church of 150 members.

Through your support and giving, Operation Mercy saw the need of Rhema Outreach Centre and was able to bless them with various items to help meet it. You can still support a child for ZAR 350 per month.

Overview

Our team of five drove for approximately 10 minutes until we arrived at the Rhema Gospel Ministry outreach where we were greeted by the Most precious little faces at the door.  It was such a blessing to see the children’s faces light up as they saw all the gifts our partners had given

Pastor Jonathan, who is the lead Pastor of the Outreach was very welcoming and took some time out to tell us about his story and how he began the outreach by simply moving to this informal settlement and giving out juice and bread to orphaned children that were wandering around with no place to go and over the years God has been so gracious and blessed his program with a pre-school where they are able to teach, feed and minister to 54 children as well as a church that has 150 members.

Our operation mercy team went on to pray with Pastor Jonathan and thanked our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for the opportunity to partner with him and the vision God has given him to make that outreach centre a safe haven for all those in the community to come and hear the undiluted word of God. This was definitely only the beginning of a fruitful relationship between Siva Moodley Ministries-Operation Mercy and The Rhema Gospel outreach Ministries.

Some Feedback from the Outreach Team...

"It was an honor to be a part of the Operation Mercy event. It touched my heart to see the need of the people, and having the opportunity to assist them was so fulfilling for me.

The Pastor of the church we assisted was full of thanksgiving toward God for the aid provided. The church is seen as a beacon of hope to those in the area, and the pastor along with his team are doing great work to uplift the community. It was so amazing to sow into their lives, and the work they are doing for the needy."

"It really touched my heart to see all the lives that we were able to help on Saturday at Pastor Jonathan's church. I know that those children and people deserve to receive the love of Christ from our side."

"I was really saddened to see so many people who don't have food on a daily basis. It is really encouraging to see someone like Pst Jonathan rising up to help the community. More food hampers will really help. We should go all out to assist these communities."

The Action Plan

The Operation Mercy team arrived at The Miracle Centre at 10:30am to prepare for our day of giving to the Rhema Gospel Outreach Ministry located a few kilometres away from our campus. We started off by arranging all the amazing contributions from our various partners, members and community.

Thereafter we prayed and thanked our Lord Jesus for his constant provision and invited him to be with us as we left to deliver the gifts.
